- This machine was developed by the Principality of Zeon at the end of the One Year War, and was then modified by the Earth Federation after the war. The Gyan was redesigned, and the MS-17 was produced on the Gelgoog production line, but the exterior was completely redesigned and made lighter, resulting in improved maneuverability and mobility. It is mainly used by the Earth Federation.

- Posing faithfully reproduces the design artwork.
- Replacement parts allow the head shutter to be opened to simulate the firing of a signal flare.
- Two-axis knee movement and calf retraction movement allow for natural knee bending and kneeling.
- The Beam Saber hilt can be stored either in the backpack as in the TV version, or on the shoulder as in the movie version.
- Equipment includes a beam rifle, shield, and beam saber. The shield can be moved to choose between a normal type and a short type.
- The two-axis movement of the elbows and the extension movement of the shoulders allow you to recreate the movement of holding the weapon in front of you or reaching out for the beam sabre on your shoulder.
- The shield can rotate 360 degrees. Missiles are mounted inside the shield. By replacing parts, you can recreate the firing state.

The Nu Gundam\'s distinctive monotone coloring and level of detail, even on the soles of its feet and the underside of its shield, are faithfully recreated to the original design. It\'s fully equipped, too, with its eye-catching fin funnels. Die-cast parts are used primarily for the joints; stable posing is possible even with the fin funnels equipped, which are balanced differently on the left and right. Its Ultra Large Mace is extended with a subarm unit to hold its place and to avoid weight issues while suspended in a free-air. The arms and legs are extended with great mechanism to provide Rex with amazing articulation, to pull off some anime-style posing and presentation.
